Mobile Notary & Wedding Officiant

Professional service for the moments that cannot wait.

Notary appointments, facility visits, and intimate wedding ceremonies throughout Central Florida.

Meet at the Plant City office, request mobile service, or submit a wedding ceremony request.

Why Overtime Exists

Because important moments rarely happen at the perfect time.

Paperwork, family decisions, medical situations, deadlines, and wedding plans do not always fit neatly into regular office hours.

Meet Your Notary

Hi, I’m Charisma.

I created Overtime Notary Co. for people who need dependable, professional service without a rigid, one-size-fits-all experience.

Ready When You Are

Start with the appointment that fits your moment.

Book at the office, request mobile service, or tell us about the wedding ceremony you are planning.

(function () { var siteUrl = 'https://overtimenotary.com/'; var scheduleUrl = siteUrl + '#schedule'; document.addEventListener('click', function (event) { var link = event.target.closest('.otn-footer a'); if (!link) return; var href = link.getAttribute('href'); if (!href) return; if ( link.matches('[data-otn-schedule-cta="true"]') || href === '#schedule' || href === '/#schedule' || href === '#contact' || href === '/#contact' ) { event.preventDefault(); window.location.href = scheduleUrl; return; } if (href.charAt(0) === '#') { event.preventDefault(); window.location.href = siteUrl + href; } }); })();

Thank you!

We will get back to you as soon as possible.

Before You Schedule

A few common questions.

These answers cover the basics. Contact Overtime Notary Co. before booking if your appointment involves a facility, witnesses, or unusual circumstances.

Do you offer same-day appointments?
Same-day availability may be possible depending on the location, travel time, and appointment details. Advance scheduling is recommended for facility visits and appointments requiring witnesses.
Can you meet at a hospital or nursing facility?
Yes. Please confirm the room or unit, visitor procedures, and that the signer is alert, willing, and able to communicate before the appointment.
Is travel included in the notary fee?
The notarial fee and mobile travel fee are separate. Your estimated total is confirmed before the appointment.
Can you provide witnesses?
Witness coordination may be available for an additional fee and must be requested before the appointment.
Can you print or scan my documents?
Printing and scan-back services may be available when requested in advance. Larger files or special handling may require a custom quote.

Overtime Notary Co. does not select forms, prepare legal documents, or provide legal advice.

Ready When You Are

Let’s find a time that works.

Tell us where you are, what type of document you have, and when you need the appointment. We will confirm the details before you are booked.

(function(){ 'use strict'; function goTo(destination){ if(!destination)return; var current= window.location.origin+ window.location.pathname+ window.location.hash; if(current===destination){ window.location.reload(); }else{ window.location.assign(destination); } } document.querySelectorAll('#otn-mobile-page a[href]').forEach(function(link){ link.addEventListener('click',function(event){ var destination=link.getAttribute('href'); if(!destination)return; event.preventDefault(); goTo(destination); }); }); })();
(function () { var siteUrl = 'https://overtimenotary.com/'; var scheduleUrl = siteUrl + '#schedule'; document.addEventListener('click', function (event) { var link = event.target.closest('.otn-footer a'); if (!link) return; var href = link.getAttribute('href'); if (!href) return; if ( link.matches('[data-otn-schedule-cta="true"]') || href === '#schedule' || href === '/#schedule' || href === '#contact' || href === '/#contact' ) { event.preventDefault(); window.location.href = scheduleUrl; return; } if (href.charAt(0) === '#') { event.preventDefault(); window.location.href = siteUrl + href; } }); })();

Notary Services

Everyday documents,handled with care.

Not every appointment looks the same.

Some clients need one signature after work. Others are coordinating family, witnesses, several documents, or a deadline. We keep the process clear before we meet.

A Little More Than a Stamp

A calm appointment starts before we meet.

The document may be ordinary. The reason behind it usually is not.

A travel consent may be part of a child’s first trip. A power of attorney may help a family prepare for what comes next. A business affidavit may be holding up a deadline. We confirm the basics so you know what to bring, who must be present, and what to expect.

Documents We Commonly See

A lot of real-life needs, all in one place.

This is not a complete list, and not every document requires notarization. The receiving party should tell you whether a notarial act is needed.

Personal & Family

Documents tied to family life, travel, school, finances, and personal matters.

The Notarial Act

What is the notary being asked to do?

The document should usually say which act is required. If it does not, the signer or receiving party must decide. A notary cannot choose it for you.

01 / ACKNOWLEDGMENT

Confirming the signature.

The signer confirms they signed willingly for the document’s stated purpose.

02 / JURAT

Signing under oath.

The signer swears or affirms the statements are true and signs in the notary’s presence.

03 / OATH OR AFFIRMATION

A spoken promise of truthfulness.

The signer makes a verbal oath or affirmation when required.

Before the Appointment

A few things make all the difference.

Most delays come from missing ID, incomplete documents, absent witnesses, or a signer who is not ready.

01
Bring acceptable identification.

The signer should have an acceptable physical photo ID.

02
Bring the complete document.

Include all pages and complete any blanks that should be filled before notarization.

03
Wait to sign when required.

Jurats must be signed in the notary’s presence. When unsure, wait.

04
Confirm your witnesses.

Verify how many are needed and whether restrictions apply.

Clear Boundaries

What a notary can—and cannot—do.

Knowing the difference protects the signer and keeps the appointment within the notary’s role.

A notary can:

  • Verify identity using acceptable ID.
  • Confirm willingness and awareness.
  • Administer an oath or affirmation.
  • Complete the required notarial certificate.

A notary cannot:

  • Choose the form or notarial act.
  • Draft or explain legal documents.
  • Tell someone whether they should sign.
  • Notarize without the signer present.

Common Questions

Still wondering about something?

A few answers clients often need before a general notary appointment.

Can you tell me whether my document needs notarization?
The receiving person or organization should tell you. A notary cannot decide that for you.
Can you choose between an acknowledgment and a jurat?
No. The signer or receiving party must choose the required act.
Can several documents be handled at one appointment?
Yes. Share the number and type before booking so enough time can be reserved.
Do all signers need to be present?
Each signer must personally appear for their own notarization.

Ready to Get It Done?

Tell us what you have.

Share the document type, number of signers, location, and when you need the appointment.

(function(){document.querySelectorAll('[data-nsgo]').forEach(function(a){a.addEventListener('click',function(e){var u=a.getAttribute('href');if(!u)return;e.preventDefault();window.location.assign(u)})})})();

Mobile Estate Planning Notary

Estate Planning Signings handled with time and care.

Some appointments deserve more than a quick signature.

Whether you are planning ahead, updating an existing estate plan, or helping someone you love complete theirs, we help keep the signing calm, organized, and thoughtfully paced.

There is usually more happening around the table than paperwork.

A family may be planning ahead. A loved one may be in a care facility. An attorney may have prepared a full set of documents that all need to be completed in one sitting.

We help keep the practical details from taking over the moment.

Every Appointment Looks Different

Every estate plan is different.

Some appointments are simple. Others bring together family members, attorneys, witnesses, and an entire estate planning package. That is why we reserve the time each appointment deserves—so you can focus on the people around the table, not the paperwork in front of you.

Different Families. Different Reasons.

The same service can support very different moments.

The documents may be similar. The story behind them usually is not.

Planning Ahead

Putting decisions in writing before they become urgent.

Powers of attorney, healthcare directives, trusts, living wills, and other documents that help protect your wishes.

Helping a Parent

When family, care, and paperwork all need to come together.

Coordinating relatives, witnesses, care settings, and an attorney-prepared package in one organized appointment.

After the Attorney

When the planning is finished and it is time to complete the signing.

Multiple documents, several notarizations, witness requirements, and attorney instructions handled in one reserved visit.

What May Be Included

Explore the documents in an estate planning package.

This is the one interactive part of the page. Open any item for a quick, plain-language explanation.

Power of Attorney
Often completed alongside trusts, living wills, and other estate planning documents. The document should already be prepared and should identify any witness or notarization requirements.
Trust Documents
May include the trust itself, amendments, certifications, or related supporting documents prepared by an attorney or document professional.
Living Will & Healthcare Directives
Documents that put healthcare wishes and decision-making preferences in writing. Witness and notarization requirements may vary by document.
Affidavits & Certifications
Sworn statements and supporting certifications that may be included in a larger estate package.
Property & Supporting Documents
Deeds, property affidavits, trust certifications, and other forms connected to the estate plan.

Your Attorney’s Role

The estate plan itself.

Your attorney or document preparer handles the legal strategy, document preparation, legal explanations, and advice.

Our Role

The signing appointment.

We handle identity verification, required notarial acts, appointment flow, witness coordination when available, and the practical details around the signing.

The Planning Has Already Been Done

Now let’s finish it together.

Share the location, document count, number of signers, witness needs, and any attorney instructions. We will confirm the practical details before the appointment is booked.

(function(){ 'use strict'; document.querySelectorAll('[data-ep-link]').forEach(function(link){ link.addEventListener('click',function(event){ var destination=link.getAttribute('data-ep-link'); if(!destination){ return; } event.preventDefault(); window.location.assign(destination); }); }); })();
(function () { var siteUrl = 'https://overtimenotary.com/'; var scheduleUrl = siteUrl + '#schedule'; document.addEventListener('click', function (event) { var link = event.target.closest('.otn-footer a'); if (!link) return; var href = link.getAttribute('href'); if (!href) return; if ( link.matches('[data-otn-schedule-cta="true"]') || href === '#schedule' || href === '/#schedule' || href === '#contact' || href === '/#contact' ) { event.preventDefault(); window.location.href = scheduleUrl; return; } if (href.charAt(0) === '#') { event.preventDefault(); window.location.href = siteUrl + href; } }); })();

Medical & Facility Notary Visits

The room may be unfamiliar. The process does not have to be.

Mobile notary visits for hospitals, rehabilitation centers, nursing facilities, assisted living, hospice, and home-care settings—planned around access, timing, and the signer’s readiness.

Before the Appointment

We take care of the details around the visit.

The Location
Where the appointment needs to happen.

Hospital room, rehabilitation center, nursing facility, assisted living community, hospice, or home.

The Timing
When the signer is most likely to be ready.

We plan around visiting hours, treatment schedules, rest, and family availability whenever possible.

The Documents
What should be prepared before we arrive.

We confirm the document package, witness needs, and any attorney or receiving-party instructions.

The Visit
How the appointment comes together.

Once the practical details are clear, we meet you where the signing needs to happen.

The Readiness Check

Before we leave for the appointment.

1
Can the signer communicate directly?

Family may help with logistics, but the signer must answer for themselves.

2
Is this a good time for the visit?

Fatigue, medication, treatment, meals, and therapy schedules can all affect readiness.

3
Are the documents actually ready?

The complete package, instructions, IDs, and witnesses should be confirmed first.

4
Can we access the location?

Parking, entry rules, unit information, and visitor procedures should be clear before arrival.

Facility Visits

Different settings create different appointment needs.

The notarization may be the same. The environment around it is not.

Hospital Rooms

Visits planned around room access, treatment schedules, and family availability.

Rehabilitation Centers

Appointments with room for therapy, rest, and changing daily routines.

Nursing & Assisted Living

Respectful visits for residents handling personal, financial, or estate documents.

Hospice & Home Care

Quiet, carefully timed appointments with no unnecessary rushing.

A Visit Can Move Forward When

The signer is ready.

The appointment can usually continue when:

  • The signer is awake and responsive.
  • They understand they are signing a document.
  • They can communicate directly with the notary.
  • They are signing willingly.

A Visit May Need to Pause When

The signer is not ready.

The appointment may need to pause or be rescheduled when:

  • The signer is unavailable or too fatigued.
  • They cannot communicate directly.
  • They appear confused about the document.
  • They are unwilling or being pressured.

A Few Important Questions

What families usually need to know.

Can you notarize for someone who is medicated?
Medication alone does not automatically prevent notarization. The signer must still be alert, willing, aware of the document, and able to communicate directly.
Can a family member answer for the signer?
No. Family may help with room details, documents, and scheduling, but the signer must answer directly.
What happens if the signer is not ready when you arrive?
The visit may need to pause, end, or be rescheduled. A notarization cannot continue if the signer is unavailable, unwilling, unaware, or unable to communicate.
Can witnesses be coordinated?
Witness coordination may be available for an additional fee when requested in advance. Availability must be confirmed before the appointment.

Need a Medical or Facility Visit?

Tell us what the situation looks like.

Share the facility, room or unit, document type, signer details, witness needs, and preferred time. We will confirm the practical details before booking.

About Overtime Notary Co.

Here when the banks are closed.

Overtime Notary Co. was built for the people who need something notarized after work, after errands, or when the usual daytime options are no longer available.

The Idea

After-hours service should still feel calm and careful.

The appointment may happen later in the day, but the details still matter: identity, signatures, witnesses, certificate wording, and whether the signer is ready and willing.

Clocked in when others clock out.
WhenAfter work

For people whose free time starts when most offices are closing.

WhereOffice or mobile

Appointments depend on schedule, location, document type, and availability.

WhyBecause timing matters

A document can be important even when the bank lobby is closed.

Why This Exists

Not everyone can handle paperwork on bank hours.

Some people work during the day. Some are coordinating with family. Some are handling a vehicle sale, a care facility visit, a last-minute form, or a deadline that showed up at the worst possible time.

01

Flexible does not mean vague.

You should still know what to bring, what to expect, and when something needs to be clarified before the appointment.

02

Later does not mean rushed.

An evening or mobile appointment should still feel organized, respectful, and focused on getting the notarization done correctly.

03

Convenience does not mean careless.

Names, dates, ID, venue, signer awareness, and notarial wording all matter, no matter what time the appointment happens.

How It Should Feel

Warm enough to ask questions. Careful enough to trust the process.

Overtime Notary Co. is not trying to make notarization fancy. It is trying to make it easier to access, easier to understand, and easier to fit into real life.

Before

Know what to bring.

ID, witnesses, blank spaces, and signatures are easier to handle when expectations are clear.

During

Keep it steady.

The appointment should feel organized, even if the reason for it is urgent.

Limits

No legal advice.

A notary can complete the notarial act, but cannot choose forms or explain legal meaning.

After

Finish cleanly.

The notarial certificate should be completed properly and the next step should be clear.

The Standard

Responsive, but grounded.

  • Clear preparation before the appointment.
  • Proper identity checks and completion of the notarial act.
  • Plain-language guidance about the process.
  • Honest communication if something needs to be handled first.
  • No pressure for anyone to sign.
Quick Situation Check

What brought you here after hours?

Choose the closest option and use it as a starting point before scheduling.

After work

Bring physical ID, the full document, and any instructions you were given. If the document needs witnesses or was already signed, ask first.

When The Banks Are Closed

You still have a place to start.

If you know what you need, schedule your appointment. If something is unclear, send a message first so the appointment has a better chance of going smoothly.

(function(){ var data={ work:["After work","Bring physical ID, the full document, and any instructions you were given. If the document needs witnesses or was already signed, ask first."], vehicle:["Vehicle sale","Make sure the title, bill of sale, or transfer paperwork is ready and that every required signer is available with ID."], care:["Care facility","The signer must be present, aware, willing, and able to communicate. If witnesses or medical timing are involved, ask before booking."], deadline:["Deadline","Send the document type, location, signer count, ID status, and whether anyone has already signed so availability can be checked clearly."] }; var buttons=document.querySelectorAll(".onc-about-refined-choice"); var title=document.getElementById("oncRefinedTitle"); var text=document.getElementById("oncRefinedText"); buttons.forEach(function(button){ button.addEventListener("click",function(){ var item=data[button.getAttribute("data-refined-choice")]; buttons.forEach(function(other){other.classList.remove("is-active")}); button.classList.add("is-active"); title.textContent=item[0]; text.textContent=item[1]; }); }); })();
(function () { var siteUrl = 'https://overtimenotary.com/'; var scheduleUrl = siteUrl + '#schedule'; document.addEventListener('click', function (event) { var link = event.target.closest('.otn-footer a'); if (!link) return; var href = link.getAttribute('href'); if (!href) return; if ( link.matches('[data-otn-schedule-cta="true"]') || href === '#schedule' || href === '/#schedule' || href === '#contact' || href === '/#contact' ) { event.preventDefault(); window.location.href = scheduleUrl; return; } if (href.charAt(0) === '#') { event.preventDefault(); window.location.href = siteUrl + href; } }); })();
Why Choose Overtime Notary Co.

Because convenience should still feel careful.

When you need a notary after work, on a tighter timeline, or outside the usual bank-hours window, you should not have to choose between availability and a steady, professional appointment.

The Difference

Flexible service with clear expectations.

Overtime Notary Co. is built for people who need practical scheduling, plain communication, and a notary who pays attention to the details that can make or break an appointment.

01

After-hours minded

Designed for people whose schedules do not line up with bank lobby hours.

02

Prepared, not rushed

The goal is to make the appointment easier without making the process careless.

03

Local and practical

Plant City based with office and mobile options depending on availability.

What matters most to you right now?

Choose the option that fits your situation. The answer will change to show why Overtime Notary Co. may be the right fit.

After-hours help

You need a notary when the usual options are closed.

That is the gap Overtime Notary Co. was built for: after work, evenings, weekends when available, and mobile requests when the situation calls for it.

What You Can Expect

A notary appointment that feels easier to navigate.

  • Help understanding what should be ready before the appointment.
  • Clear communication about availability, location, and next steps.
  • Proper identity checks and completion of the notarial act.
  • Patience when the document or situation feels unfamiliar.
  • Honesty about what a notary can and cannot do.
What This Is Not

Not rushed. Not vague. Not legal advice.

Choosing Overtime Notary Co. means choosing flexibility without skipping the important parts. It does not mean a notary can choose your form, explain legal meaning, or pressure anyone to sign.

The Reasons People Choose Us

It is not just the hours. It is the way the appointment is handled.

Responsive

You can ask first.

A quick question can prevent missing ID, early signatures, or unavailable witnesses from slowing everything down.

Flexible

Built around real schedules.

Office and mobile options help when the usual daytime choices are not realistic.

Careful

Details are not skipped.

Names, dates, venue, signer awareness, ID, and certificate wording all matter.

Human

No talking down.

You should be able to ask normal questions without feeling like you should already know the answer.

When The Banks Are Closed

Choose the notary built for real schedules.

If you know what you need, schedule your appointment. If you are unsure, send a message first and ask before booking.

Frequently Asked Questions

The little things people usually ask right before booking.

Questions come up, and that's completely normal. Here are the answers to the ones I hear most often before, during, and after an appointment.

Think of this as the “please tell me this before I accidentally waste my time” page.

Good To Know

Small details that matter more than people realize.

These are the things that are easy to overlook until you are already at the appointment.

Better to know before we meet.

Identification
01My ID expired yesterday. Is that okay?

Unfortunately, no. Even if it expired yesterday, Florida requires a current, valid photo ID. If the ID is expired, I would not be able to complete the notarization using that ID.

Current and valid means not expired.
02Can I use a photo of my driver’s license?

No. I need to see the actual physical identification document, not a photo, screenshot, or copy of it. The ID has to be presented at the appointment.

Please have the physical ID with you.
03What if I forgot my ID?

We would need to reschedule. Identification is not just a preference, it is part of the notarization process. I cannot complete the appointment without acceptable identification.

No ID means no notarization.
Signing & Documents
04Can I sign before you get there?

Sometimes yes, sometimes no. It depends on the type of notarization your document needs. If you are unsure, the safest option is to wait until the appointment or ask me before signing.

When in doubt, wait to sign.
05Can you notarize a blank document?

No. The document should be complete before it is notarized. Blank spaces can create problems later, so I may ask that they are filled in, crossed out, or otherwise handled before we continue.

Documents should be complete before notarization.
06Can you tell me where to sign?

I can point out signature lines, initials, and the notary section if they are clearly shown. What I cannot do is tell you what answers to write, choose a form for you, or give legal advice about the document.

I can guide the process, not give legal advice.
People Present
07Can you notarize for someone who is asleep, confused, or heavily medicated?

No. The signer must be awake, aware, willing to sign, and able to communicate with me at the time of the appointment. If the signer cannot participate, I cannot move forward.

The signer must be present and aware.
08Can family members be witnesses?

Sometimes, but not always. Some documents have specific witness rules, and certain witnesses may not be appropriate depending on the document. If witnesses are needed, it is best to check the document instructions first.

Witness rules can depend on the document.
Appointment Details
09Will you print my documents?

If we talk about it ahead of time, I may be able to help. Otherwise, please have your documents printed and ready before the appointment.

Printing should be discussed before the appointment.
10Can you wait while I finish filling everything out?

Small corrections are usually fine, but the document should not still be in progress when I arrive. Having everything ready helps keep the appointment smooth and avoids delays.

Ready documents make the appointment easier.
Before I Drive To You

A quick check can save the whole appointment.

This is not the full preparation list. It is the short version of what can stop an appointment from moving forward.

Your ID is physically with you and not expired.

Everyone who needs to sign will be present and aware.

The document is printed and filled out, except for signatures that need to wait.

You have checked whether your document needs witnesses.

If something feels unclear, you ask before the appointment.

Still Have A Question?

Ask before you guess.

If you are not sure what you need, send a message before booking. It is always better to ask first than find out something is missing at the appointment.

(function() { document.querySelectorAll('.otn-section-link').forEach(function(link) { link.addEventListener('click', function(e) { var href = link.getAttribute('href'); if (href && href.charAt(0) === '#') { e.preventDefault(); window.location.href = href; setTimeout(function() { window.location.reload(); }, 100); } }); }); })();

What You'll Need

A smoother appointment starts before I arrive.

Notarization is usually simple when the right pieces are ready. Use this page as a quick prep guide before your office or mobile appointment.

Quick Reminder

Do not sign too early.

Some documents need to be signed in front of the notary. If you are not sure, wait until the appointment or ask first.

ID

Bring a physical, acceptable photo ID.

Document

Have the full document printed and ready.

Signer

Every signer must be present and willing.

Witnesses

Check whether your document requires them.

Before We Meet

Think of this as your appointment warm-up.

You do not need to know every notary term before we start. You just need the right ID, the right people, and the document ready enough for us to move through the signing without preventable delays.

01

Review the document instructions.

Look for witness requirements, signer names, blank spaces, and any special instructions from the person or company requesting the notarization.

02

Keep the document unsigned if you are unsure.

Some documents must be signed in front of the notary. Waiting is usually the safest choice if the instructions are not clear.

03

Make sure everyone is ready.

Each signer should be present, alert, aware of what they are signing, and able to communicate willingness to sign.

Appointment Checklist

Bring these, check these, skip these.

Bring

What to have with you.

  • A valid physical photo ID for each signer.
  • The complete document that needs notarization.
  • Any required witnesses, if your document calls for them.
  • Payment method discussed or shown at booking.
  • Any instructions from your lender, attorney, agency, school, or requesting party.
Avoid

What can slow things down.

  • Only having a photo or copy of your ID.
  • Signing a document before confirming it is okay to sign early.
  • Leaving required fields blank unless instructed.
  • Missing signers, missing witnesses, or unavailable decision-makers.
  • Asking the notary to choose the form or give legal advice.
Optional

Helpful if you have it.

  • A backup contact for questions about the document.
  • Extra copies if multiple people need records.
  • A quiet table or flat surface for mobile appointments.
  • Parking or entry details if I am coming to you.
  • A quick note about anything unusual before the appointment.
Ready Check

A few small details can save the whole appointment.

If these four things are handled, most appointments feel much easier from the moment we sit down.

ID is physically with each signer.
Documents are printed and complete.
Witnesses are arranged if required.
Everyone signing is present and aware.
Signer Readiness

Every signer needs to be part of the appointment.

The notary needs to confirm identity and willingness. If someone is asleep, confused, unavailable, heavily medicated, or unable to communicate, the notarization may not be able to move forward.

The signer is physically present for an in-person notarization.

The signer understands they are signing a document.

The signer is signing willingly, without pressure.

The signer can communicate directly with the notary.

Still Checking?

Send a quick question first.

If you are unsure about your ID, witnesses, signatures, document instructions, or whether mobile service is the right fit, I would rather help you sort it out before the appointment.

(function () { var siteUrl = 'https://overtimenotary.com/'; var scheduleUrl = siteUrl + '#schedule'; document.addEventListener('click', function (event) { var link = event.target.closest('.otn-footer a'); if (!link) return; var href = link.getAttribute('href'); if (!href) return; if ( link.matches('[data-otn-schedule-cta="true"]') || href === '#schedule' || href === '/#schedule' || href === '#contact' || href === '/#contact' ) { event.preventDefault(); window.location.href = scheduleUrl; return; } if (href.charAt(0) === '#') { event.preventDefault(); window.location.href = siteUrl + href; } }); })();
Accepted Identification

Bring the Right ID Before We Sign

For a Florida notarization, identity has to be confirmed before the appointment can move forward. This page explains the identification that is commonly accepted and the details that can delay an appointment.

The short version.

Bring the original physical ID, make sure it is readable, and ask before booking if your ID is expired, damaged, foreign-issued, or connected to a name change.

01

Physical ID

A photo, screenshot, scan, or copy is not enough. The actual identification document needs to be presented.

02

Readable Details

The ID should be readable and include the identifying information needed to confirm your identity.

03

Name Match

The name on your ID should reasonably connect to the name on the document being signed.

An identification card issued by the United States Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration Services may qualify.

Foreign Passport

Foreign passport with USCIS stamp

A foreign passport may qualify when it is stamped by the United States Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration Services.

Confinement

Certain inmate identification

Florida law includes certain Florida Department of Corrections and U.S. Bureau of Prisons inmate identification options.

Please Do Not Bring Only

Things that can stop the appointment.

  • A photo, screenshot, photocopy, or scan of your ID.
  • An ID that is damaged, unreadable, or missing identifying information.
  • A name mismatch that cannot be reasonably connected to the document.
  • A work badge, school ID, membership card, or other card not listed under Florida notary ID rules.
Good To Know

Ask first if anything feels unclear.

  • Your ID is expired or close to expired.
  • Your document uses a former name, nickname, initials, or married name.
  • You only have a foreign-issued document.
  • You are helping someone else prepare for a signing.
No Acceptable ID?

Credible witnesses may be an option in limited situations.

Florida law allows credible witnesses in certain circumstances, but this is not a shortcut around ID. The witnesses must meet specific requirements, and this should be discussed before the appointment.

  • The witness must personally know the signer.
  • The witness cannot have a financial interest in the transaction.
  • The witness cannot be a party to the document or transaction.
  • Depending on the situation, one or two credible witnesses may be required.
Still Unsure?

Ask before the appointment.

If your ID is expired, damaged, foreign-issued, recently changed, or connected to a name change, send a quick message before booking so we can avoid delays.

(function () { var siteUrl = 'https://overtimenotary.com/'; var scheduleUrl = siteUrl + '#schedule'; document.addEventListener('click', function (event) { var link = event.target.closest('.otn-footer a'); if (!link) return; var href = link.getAttribute('href'); if (!href) return; if ( link.matches('[data-otn-schedule-cta="true"]') || href === '#schedule' || href === '/#schedule' || href === '#contact' || href === '/#contact' ) { event.preventDefault(); window.location.href = scheduleUrl; return; } if (href.charAt(0) === '#') { event.preventDefault(); window.location.href = siteUrl + href; } }); })();
Florida Notary Guide

A clearer guide to Florida notarization.

You do not need to know every part of Florida notary law before an appointment. You just need the right ID, the right document, and a clear understanding of what the notary is allowed to do.

State Of Florida

I can help with the notary process. I cannot give legal advice.

I can check ID, review the notarial wording, administer an oath when needed, and complete the certificate. I cannot pick your form, explain legal consequences, or tell you whether signing is the right choice.

VenueWhere it happens

The certificate usually needs the state and county where we are notarizing.

IDIdentity first

The signer has to be identified before the notarization can move forward.

SealThe Florida seal

The notary seal shows the Florida commission details for the notarial act.

FeeThe notary fee

Florida generally allows up to $10 per notarial act. Mobile travel is discussed separately.

Florida Context

The certificate wording matters.

The document is what you are signing. The notarial certificate is the section I complete. If that wording is missing, unclear, or does not match the act being requested, we may need to pause before moving forward.

117.04

Acknowledgment

This is where the signer confirms they signed willingly. You may see this on deeds, powers of attorney, title paperwork, and many official forms.

117.03

Oath or Affirmation

This is used when someone is swearing or affirming that something is true. Think affidavits, jurats, and sworn statements.

117.05

Certified Copies

Florida allows some copy certifications, but not everything. Birth certificates, marriage certificates, and other public records usually need to come from the issuing office.

Florida Notary Can

Complete the notarial act.

  • Take an acknowledgment when you are confirming you signed willingly.
  • Administer an oath or affirmation for affidavits and sworn statements.
  • Confirm identity using acceptable proof under Florida notary rules.
  • Complete the notarial certificate with the venue, date, signature, and seal.
  • Perform a Florida marriage ceremony when there is a valid Florida marriage license.
Florida Notary Cannot

Give legal advice.

  • Choose the form or document for you.
  • Explain what the legal wording means.
  • Tell you whether signing is a good idea.
  • Fill in legal answers or make decisions for a signer.
  • Move forward when ID, awareness, willingness, or required wording is missing.
At The Appointment

What we are checking before the seal goes on.

Step 1

Venue

We confirm where the notarization is happening: Florida and the county.

Step 2

Identity

Each signer shows acceptable physical ID or another allowed form of identity proof.

Step 3

Act Type

We check whether the document needs an acknowledgment, oath, jurat, or another notarial act.

Step 4

Signature

You sign at the right time, or acknowledge a signature already on the document.

Step 5

Certificate

I complete the certificate and apply the Florida notary seal when required.

Florida Details That Matter

Small details can affect the appointment.

A notarization may only take a few minutes, but the details still matter: wording, venue, ID, witnesses, blank spaces, and whether the signer can clearly participate.

FL 1 Can a Florida notary marry people?

Yes. Florida notaries can perform marriage ceremonies in Florida, but the couple needs a valid Florida marriage license first.

FL 2 Can I use an expired ID?

It depends on the ID and the situation. If your ID is expired, damaged, or unusual, ask before the appointment so we can avoid surprises.

FL 3 Can a Florida notary certify my birth certificate?

No. Birth certificates, marriage certificates, and other vital records need to come from the official agency that issues them.

FL 4 What is the Florida notary fee?

Florida generally allows up to $10 for one notarial act. If I am traveling to you, the travel fee is separate and discussed before we meet.

Before You Book In Florida

Ask first if anything is unusual.

That includes expired ID, hospital or care facility signings, witnesses, a document that was already signed, unclear instructions, or a signing location outside Florida.

Florida Appointment Prep

Bring these with you.

  • Physical photo ID for each signer.
  • The full document that needs notarization.
  • Required witnesses, if your document calls for them.
  • Any instructions from the requesting party, lender, attorney, agency, or title office.
  • Payment method and travel details discussed at booking.
Florida Appointment Help

Bring the document. I will handle the notary steps.

If everything is ready, schedule your appointment. If something is unclear, send a quick message first so we can sort it out before we meet.

(function () { var siteUrl = 'https://overtimenotary.com/'; var scheduleUrl = siteUrl + '#schedule'; document.addEventListener('click', function (event) { var link = event.target.closest('.otn-footer a'); if (!link) return; var href = link.getAttribute('href'); if (!href) return; if ( link.matches('[data-otn-schedule-cta="true"]') || href === '#schedule' || href === '/#schedule' || href === '#contact' || href === '/#contact' ) { event.preventDefault(); window.location.href = scheduleUrl; return; } if (href.charAt(0) === '#') { event.preventDefault(); window.location.href = siteUrl + href; } }); })();

  • Use the form for general questions

  • Email if you need to send extra detail
  • Social links are below if that is easier
Contact Form

Send a message.

Use this for questions, appointment help, or anything you would rather explain in writing.

Submitting this form does not automatically confirm an appointment. I will follow up as soon as I can.

Need A Faster Answer?

Call or text if the appointment is time-sensitive.

For everything else, the form is the easiest way to send the details in one place.

Your message was sent, and I will follow up as soon as I can."); }else{ setStatus("error","Something did not send correctly. Please call or text me directly."); } }) .catch(function(){ setStatus("error","Something did not send correctly.
